A page view is defined a when a webpage is viewed through a web-browser, so it is viewed by a person on a computer. All non-human activity on clients’ websites is discounted and is not included in your page views.
Sessions
A session is defined as when a browser enters clients’ websites until they are not active for 30 minutes or close their web browser window. One unique visitor can have multiple sessions in a time frequency.
Unique Visitors
The unique visitor reports are available in three different time frequencies: daily, weekly and monthly. In the selected time frequency a visitor will only ever be counted once, thus the term unique. If that visitor has been to the selected filter area prior to the time frequency in question within the last 3 months then they will be identified as a return visitor. If they have not been to the selected filter area in the last three months they will be identified as a new visitor.
Note:In any time frequency a unique visitor is either new or return and can never be both.
If a visitor returns to clients’ website twice in one day, they will only be counted as one unique visitor but will have two sessions.
